Due to our small class sizes enrollment is open until a class fills. It may sometimes be necessary to delay our start date. If the class you want is not currently active you can register now to reserve your spot on the roster; payment is not due until the class has an official start date.

Canine Life Skills 3

Dates: Tuesday, TBD at 7:45 p.m.

Class duration: 6 weeks

Building on the skills you learned in Canine Life Skills 1 and 2, we’ll prepare you and your dog to encounter real-life situations, where you will put those skills into practice. Distance, duration and distraction combine to become more challenging as we introduce new environments. Along the way we’ll add some clever tricks to impress your friends. At the end of class, we’ll take a field trip to a nearby pet-friendly location to show off your advanced skills in a real-world setting. The class will also cover the preparation you need to take the AKC’s Community Canine (CGCA) test.

 

Class size: Maximum 6 dogs

  • Prior completion of Canine Life Skills 2 (or equivalent)

Canine Good Citizen Prep

Dates: Saturday, TBD at 5:15 p.m.

Rolling enrollment Saturdays at 5:15 p.m, join any time!

Class duration: 6 weeks, 1 hour per week

 **Holiday weekends there will not be any class**

Prepare your dog to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen® test. Skills necessary to pass the test include walking politely through a crowd, coming when called, supervised separations, polite reactions to other dogs and more. The first 5 weeks will prepare your dog for the final class, which includes the CGC test.

 

*Do you want to take the test, but don't feel your dog needs the entire class? Join us for just the final class and the CGC test. Single class fee: $30

Therapy Dog Prep

Dates: Thursday, TBD at 7:00 p.m.

Class duration: 6 weeks, 1 hour per week

Your dog is a social butterfly, and you are interested in giving back to the community. This class will teach skills to help you and your dog become a Therapy Dog team able to visit local hospitals, nursing homes and other public locations. This course will help you and your dog learn the behaviors needed to create happy and memorable social visits, keep your dog safe in clinical environments and prepare to pass a Therapy Dog evaluation. This is a 6-week class and the last class session will be a practice therapy dog evaluation/test.

My Dog Has C.L.A.S.S. - M.A. and Ph.D.™

Class duration: 6 weeks (which includes 5 weeks of regular class, with the C.L.A.S.S. Evaluation on week 6), 1 hour per week.  **Holiday weekends there will not be any class**

Canine Life and Social Skills, or C.L.A.S.S., was developed by the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. Are you and your dog high achievers? Help your dog earn a Masters and Ph.D. by building on the skills you practice in the B.A. class

 

Class size: Maximum 5 dogs

 

Fee: $155

 

Requirements:

  • Current vaccinations

  • Dog must be able to safely work with pet owner within ten feet of other dogs

  • B.A. must be completed to earn the M.A., which must be completed to earn the Ph.D.

Canine Fitness Foundation

Dates: Thursday, TBD at 8:15 p.m.

Class duration: 6 weeks, 1 hour per week

If you are ready to start a conditioning program for your athletic dog, this is the class for you! You will learn how to build a fitness program for your dog using a combination of things you can find around your house and specialty equipment such as balance disks, inflated peanuts, paw-pods and balance-boards. Some of these foundation exercises will require no equipment at all. You’ll finish the class with an understanding of what types of exercises are appropriate for your dog and how to organize a meaningful exercise plan and schedule. Your program will include:

  • Exercises to strengthen front, rear and core muscles

  • Exercises to help your dog discover his or her feet (proprioception)

  • How to design warm-up and cool-down routines for your dog’s athletic activities

  • How and when to effectively stretch your dog

 

Class size: Maximum 5 dogs

Canine Conditioning

Class duration: 4 weeks

Stronger dogs with better balance can run more efficiently in competition, improve performance and reduce their likelihood of injury. This ongoing class will help you plan and execute a balanced exercise program for your canine partner and maintain your motivation for conditioning. We will continue to build a conditioning program for your dog based on fun exercises and trick as well as fitness equipment such as balance disks, inflated peanuts, paw-pods and balance-boards.

 

Class size: Maximum 5 dogs 

 

Fee: $90

  • Completion of Canine Fitness Foundations is recommended
